About Us

Sixth Man Marketing is a data-driven online marketing firm in beautiful Spokane, Washington. We help our clients increase revenue by optimizing their presence on the Internet. We do this by working with them to establish business goals and supporting KPI’s (key performance indicators), increasing relevant traffic (from sources most likely to buy), gleaning insight from analytics, and turning website visitors into customers.

Our multi-disciplinary team of online marketing professionals bring together decades of experience in their respective fields of: Analytics, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Usability, Conversion Rate Optimization, and Marketing Communications.

Ed Reese – Principal

Ed is equal parts website analyst, SEO, and online marketing strategist. He started analyzing data as a seven-year-old aspiring farmer in Green Bluff weighing acorn squash on the vine with his Mom’s bathroom scale to project revenue. The following year he set up a distribution network to sell his squash so he could spend more time riding his bike and playing Donkey Kong. He’s been looking for ways to optimize companies’ marketing efforts ever since. He is also a national marketing speaker and member of the Get Listed University Faculty.

Tine Reese – Usability

“Usability is not a luxury—it’s a requirement!” Tine is passionate about thoughtfully integrating good design, clear communication, and user expectations in all facets of the online experience. She has a wicked sixth sense for what motivates people to take action on the web and a measurable track record to prove it. In addition to her list of client design work, she was a founding partner of the San Francisco marketing communications firm Mission Minded and is Founder and Executive Director of the local nonprofit Bloom Spokane.

Mary Bowling – SEO

Mary is an SEO strategist extraordinaire. She approaches Local Search, SEO, and Internet Marketing in a practical way—from a business owner’s perspective. Mary speaks frequently on the topic at national industry conferences and conducts intensive trainings on Local Search across the country and is also a member of the Get Listed University Faculty and regular contributor to Planet Ocean.

Jessie DePell – Client Services, Local Search & Analytics

Jessie oversees our client services and ensures that project deadlines and strategies are on track. She’s a former D-1 basketball player with a great team work ethic and commitment to getting things done with results communicated effectively. She’s also learning a ton about the industry and recently received her Google Analytics Individual Certification.

Audrey Kaplan – Usability, Research & Strategy

Audrey has our favorite job history to date: Oracle, Google, and now Sixth Man Marketing. She’s a usability powerhouse with 10 years of in-the-trenches usability experience between her days conducting usability research for the e-commerce group at Oracle and then leading usability teams at Google. Oh, she also has as a Ph.D in Cognitive Psychology. Yeah, you could say she has a pretty good idea of why people do what they do when it comes to website behavior and actions.

Ash Boodel

Ash is a technical troubleshooter. You can throw him into a tangled web of incoherent, mangled code and five minutes later he’ll emerge with the answer. His experience and expertise in programming advanced database and backend solutions is invaluable when it comes to identifying and diagnosing website issues.

Aly Knudsen

Aly is the financial controller and bookkeeper at Sixth Man Marketing. She keeps us in line by keeping her eye on the bottom line. Aly has a bachelors degree in Business Management from Eastern Washington University.
