Hotbed’s Media: Get found on the search engines and still be cool.

Hotbed didn’t want to sacrifice look and feel for the sake of SEO. Do you really want your website found if it looks bad? In the agency world, that’s the kiss of death. I knew it had to retain the vibe of their old website and was very happy to be working with Corwin J. Stone of The Milk Farm. In addition to being found via the search engines (San Francisco CA Film Production, Commercial Production San Francisco), Hotbed wanted to keep viewers on their website longer, so they could view more videos. They had a lot of great content just waiting to be discovered. My goals were to generate a massive increase in traffic and keep them there. Check out the complete Hotbed case study here.

Lalanne Fitness: A legacy of health and wellness

Chris Lalanne was born into his brand. As the grand nephew of fitness legend Jack Lalanne, he had name recognition out of the gate. In fact, there are over 90,000 Google searches/month for “Jack Lalanne” and even more for the name Lalanne. But Chis is no media slouch himself. As a personal trainer for over ten years he’s been featured in numerous articles and news stories himself. Brand recognition isn’t the issue. The challenge is for a new web site to go beyond brand and rank for gyms (and related terms) in San Francisco. Chris’ gym focuses on a specific type of training called CrossFit that is guaranteed to kick your butt. He called last week and screamed, “Ed, we’re on top of page one for CrossFit San Francisco! It was great to hear, but I’ll be happy when they are near the top of page one for more general search (gyms, personal trainers, fitness, and health clubs) in San Francisco. But this is a new account. I’ll get them there.

Tine Reese Design: A big city designer relocates to the Inland Empire

Tine recently traded-in San Francisco, CA for Spokane, WA as part of a big life change. Her son needed a yard, her husband needed a basement for his electronics, and she needed fewer parking tickets. As co-founder and lead designer of the marketing communications firm Mission Minded, she worked with some of the best non-profits in San Francisco including The San Francisco Opera, The American Conservatory Theatre, and the American Red Cross. Now comfortably in Spokane, she’s looking for a bit of freelance design work and enlisted the help of Sixth Man Marketing for search engine optimization of her web site. Considering that she’s my wife, it probably would’ve been pretty embarrassing if she went with someone else. Here is the complete case study.
